Special Bulletin: We still need volunteers for Buskerfest 2017! Don a yellow shirt and get to know your local musicians up close and personal on December 15. Apply today to join the team!

Strap yourselves in kiddies – it’s December, the pinnacle of everybody-do-an-event-at-the-same-time-in-Miami. But don’t worry, we’ve waded through the pea soup of this weekend to highlight the very best. Enjoy it, because Basel traffic is going to make next week the BEST EVER.

Friday, December 1

Church Fire / Mirror Fears / Sharlyn Evertsz, Sweat Records, 7PM

The Live at Sweat series returns, featuring intimate performances in Miami’s favorite neighborhood vinyl haunted house. This FREE show features the dark electronica of Church Fire, Mirror Fears and Sharyln Evertsz. Terrifying. Don’t worry, Sweat also sells dynamite coffee to keep you super aware of your surroundings so ain’t nobody gonna sneak up on ya!

Saturday, December 2

Young Musicians Unite Holiday Concert, Wynwood Yard, 5-7:30PM

Young Musicians Unite, an organization that provides musical training to underserved communities, is throwing a holiday party featuring ensembles comprised of their students. We call them students, but these ‘kids’ have talent beyond what their ages would indicate. The event is FREE and you can get a sneak peek of Avalanche, who will be joining us for Buskerfest 2017.

Wynwood Brewing 4th Anniversary Block Party, WBC, 12-11PM

It’s no secret that beer and music go very well together. The folks at Wynwood Brewing Company know this and to celebrate their 4th year of making grain-juice, they are shutting down the street outside the brewery for a party. You can enjoy tunes by Chantil Dukart, JUke, and Future Prezidents throughout the day while sampling bites by multiple food vendors including Buskerfest Partner, Sparky’s Roadside BBQ. I’m getting thirsty and hungry just writing about this.

Sunday, December 3

CD Release Show at Las Rosas – DHMC6, Las Rosas, 6PM

This CD Release/live show is a commemorative concert for Dan Hosker who tragically died following a car accident in 2012. The CD contains tracks numerous prominent Miami bands from past decades – evidence of Hosker’s role in the local music scene. Enjoy performances by many of Hosker’s former collaborators in this cool new(ish) bar run by the old crew from Churchill’s.

Just The Tip Pre Basel Show, Yo Space, 7:30PM

We love it when friends come together. The good folks at Yo Miami are teaming up with fine people at Words and Wine for a unique open mic/comedy show hybrid event. Looks like they will be accepting walk-up performers early on, followed by a comedy show and capped with a performance by 1000 Fuegos. Did we mention the free Pabst? How about the N64? The awesome gallery filled with art by resident Yo artists? Don’t be dumb, end your weekend here.

You should be good and exhausted after all that. Get your Sunday sleep because there will be no sleep till Basel next week.

Much Love,

The Buskerfest Team
