*Special Bulletin* Performer and volunteer registration is open for Buskerfest Miami 2017! If you’re a performer, consider applying to perform at the festival. Perhaps your skill lies in helping people, lugging equipment, or being an ambassador. If that sounds like you, don’t think twice about signing up to volunteer with us!

It’s gonna be a wet weekend. The New Times in their typical sensational fashion has dubbed this the Floodpocalypse. King Tide plus tons of rain equals roads converted into rivers. We are doing our anti-rain dance in anticipation of these excellent events. Here’s how we suggest you while away the weekend.

Friday, October 6

Copper Fest, Little Haiti Cultural Complex, 7PM

Hosting events around the city, Copper Fest, is a series of events, workshops, and master classes. Friday night’s show includes a premiere by one of Cuba’s most renowned contemporary dance companies, DanzAbierta. Live music is provided by Agape and Soul of Brass. Entry is completely free if you RSVP.

Saturday, October 7

The Main Squeeze, Wynwood Yard, 9PM

Wynwood Yard continues to bring compelling regional acts our way. This weekend features Chicago grown The Main Squeeze, a dynamic group which defies easy genre classification. It will be funky. It will rock. It will cost you nothing. Throw on your galoshes and your poncho – ain’t no stopping this party.

Sunday, October 8

PureSalem Guitars Showroom Opening Party, 1-7PM

Head South on Sunday, my friends, and celebrate the opening of PureSalem Guitars, Miami’s newest purveyor of proper axes. The company’s slogan is literally, “bow down upon the church of acid rock.” How appropriate that this party happens on a Sunday… The event offers food from trucks, vendors of local goodies and performances by many familiar names like Lone Wolf OMB and Pocket of Lollipops. Throw on your skinny acid wash jeans and melt your face.

Only a few more weeks of wet season and then the real fun begins. See you on the flipside, kids!

Much Love,

The Buskerfest Team
