*Special Bulletin* Performer and volunteer registration is open for Buskerfest Miami 2017! If you’re a performer, consider applying to perform at the festival. Perhaps your skill lies in helping people, lugging equipment, or being an ambassador. If that sounds like you, don’t think twice about signing up to volunteer with us!

It’s TRES PUNTOS (iii Points) weekend! And incidentally Friday the 13th. Rather than fill your feeds with information about this awesome local fest, we suggest you head to their website to learn about all the offerings on tap. Instead, here are some under the radar happenings for your life pleasure, most of which are FREE!

Art Days, various locations, 10/13-10/15

Hurricane Irma forced Art Days, the annual celebration of the arts in Downtown Miami back a month. Thankfully, the folks at the Miami DDA decided it was to important to let slide until next year. There are a plethora (word of the day) of free events, gallery shows, tours etc. throughout the weekend, but we suggest you start with tonight’s Drink + Draw featuring Jack Daniels cocktails and sounds by Rage & Rod and BraSoul. It’ll cost you not one red cent.

Season Opener WALLCAST with MTT and Yuja Wang, New World Symphony, 7:30PM

Anyone else reminded of the Face/Off movie poster by the above image? We’re going off topic here – the point is that the New World Symphony season opener is tomorrow, which means you can enjoy a stacked concert with artistic director Michael Tilson Thomas and world-class pianist Yuja Wang for FREE in Soundscape Park. NWS WALLCAST are arguably the best free events of the season. This one’s program is NOT to be missed.

Sunday, October 15

Joel Da Silva “Everywhere From Here” record release, Funky Buddha Brewing Company, 5-8PM

Local bluesman Joel Da Silva has a treat for you. A new album in fact. And the party is at Funky Buddha Brewing Company. If you follow this blog, you know we appreciate a good brew with our music. You get both this Sunday thanks to Joel and his band The Midnight Howl. If you miss breakfast, you can catch up with their French Toast Double Brown Ale or a Raspberry Coffee Porter. The music shall flow and so shall the suds. Congrats, Joel!

The blog is taking a break for the next couple weeks. We’ll be back after Halloween with some exciting news for Buskerfest Miami 2017 on December 15. Put it in your date book. You have one, right?

Much Love,

The Buskerfest Team
