We’re not sure the Wynwood Yard is an official campsite, but you might want to ask – their programming lately has been knocking it out of the park (well, Yard)! They are kicking things off this weekend with two nights of local music goodness. We’ve also got an opportunity to do some civic good and to check out some truly emerging talent on the Beach. Get your day planner out (you’ve got one, right?). Here we go!

Thursday, July 27

Brasoul live at the Yard, Wynwood Yard, 8pm

Brasoul, Miami’s Brazilian Soul collective (and Buskerfest 2016 alum), is doing a hot, hot, hot night of music at the Yard. It’s the perfect soundtrack to a sweaty night out under the stars. And you really cannot beat the cost (FREE). Grab a bowl from Della’s and fuel up for a night of dancing and vibing.

Soul Buffet III: 10 Years of Ketchy Shuby, Wynwood Yard, 9pm

Soul is on tap this weekend! The godfathers of Miami Soul, Ketchy Shuby, have put together a killer program featuring the likes of Fusik, The Black Dove and Scone Cash Players, not to mention Ketchy themselves. You can also stock up on fresh vinyl that will be for sale and of course, enjoy the myriad eats and drinks at the Yard. As always, entry is FREE. In the words of James Brown, “GET DOWN!”

Saturday, July 29

Progress Lab: Trees, Center For Social Change, 3pm

The importance of shady trees couldn’t be more apparent as we enter the dog days of Summer. Our friends at Emerge Miami and the Urban Paradise Guild have endeavored to plant one million trees in the next few years (ambition!) to help us stay cool, both physically and metaphorically. Saturday’s gathering is a group brainstorm about taking this plan into action. Be a part of this conversation and help us make Miami ever more verdant.

Sunday, July 30

Miami Girls Rock Camp 2017 Finale Showcase, Fillmore Miami Beach, 5pm

Celebrate the end of Miami Girls Rock Camp with a showcase of this year’s campers.  This volunteer-run summer camp uses music and performance to empower young girls and women ages 8-17 in the Miami area. Enjoy performances of original music penned by the campers themselves and a culminating performance by Anastasia Max in the iconic Fillmore Miami Beach. Tickets are only $13 and support a great organization.

After all that activity, you’ll deserve a break. Luckily, Game of Thrones airs Sunday night, so you can sit back and cool down in style. Will John Snow survive another episode???

Much Love,

The Buskerfest Team
