Happy New Year! The weekly event blog is BACK after a short recovery hiatus from Buskerfest Miami 2017. Just in time too – this is another pinnacle cultural weekend in South Florida starting with our sister festival from some other’s mother: Baygrass Bluegrass Festival.

Baygrass Bluegrass Festival, Founders Park, Islamorada
The Baygrass Bluegrass Festival is arguably our favorite event of the winter calendar. Take a short 90-minute trip down picturesque US1, feel your big-city woes melt away and prepare for a weekend full of good people, excellent music and delicious craft beer. This three day affair starts with two nights of fun and jamming at the Islamorada arts district followed by a full day of regional and national folk and bluegrass bands. All of this can be yours for a mere $20. That’s not a misprint. T-W-E-N-T-Y B-U-C-K-S. Put on your boogie shoes and head South, my friends.

Been to Las Rosas yet? We just checked it out last weekend and owing to the operators former haunt, it’s like someone gutted Churchill’s, gave it a fresh coat of paint and an actual functional layout and stuffed it full of the same people we’ve come to love over the years. Don’t worry – the bathroom still has that infamous charm. This show features quite a range of local performers including Buskerfest friends Folktale San Pedro. No cover from what we see, but the beer ain’t free!

You know Art Deco, the iconic architecture that defines Ocean Drive and much of South Beach. This FREE festival has been running for 41 years (!!!) and has something for everybody. There’s multiple live music events in Lummus Park, guided walking tours, stuff for kids – the works.
