What’s good, y’all? This week is full of open mics for us (including Artistic Vibes, Speak!Fridays and Words and Wine), but here are some other offerings we think are worth your time and focus. Each of these events promises great performances from old and new Miami artists alike.

You may have caught Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band at Buskerfest 2015. If you’ve yet to enjoy this amazing traditional American band, you have an excellent opportunity to do so at the ‘historic’ Luna Star Cafe. Luna Star has presented great shows for over a decade and has been a cornerstone of the local music scene. They continue that legacy this Friday. Bring cash though, no cards accepted!

Choose Your Sound with Guitars Over Guns

cys2016_banner-final

Guitars Over Guns (GOGO for short) have been teaching music as a vehicle of empowerment to underserved youth for EIGHT YEARS. That’s serious dedication to two causes we care deeply about – a thriving music scene and the development of young Miamians. Their annual fundraiser, Choose Your Sound, is this Saturday and if the past is any indication, this promises to be a night full of the some of the best music Miami has to offer and you can enjoy supporting a great organization with your ticket purchase.

ReVerb – Forevermore – Party 4 Pink w/ Artistic Vibes, 8:30-11:30pm

If you can’t afford Choose Your Sound, Artistic Vibes has you covered with ‘Forevermore’ – a music and poetry extravaganza. Tickets are only $10 and you can feel good spending the cheese since it will help support breast cancer research. If you’ve never been to AV, you can look forward to a comfortable and welcoming space with some really excellent people, plus a performance by Buskerfest alum Panda-Rama.

Cheap Miami Records loves analog. The love is so strong that they only release music on cassette tapes. They also love promoting emerging Miami bands, such as Sweet Bronco, Dénudés and Plastic Pinks, who you may already know. This Sunday, they are producing a comedy and music showcase at the always charming Kill Your Idol. Buskerfest veterans Slow Coast are sure to steal the show and the price ($0) can’t be beat.

That’s it for this week! Don’t forget, if you are out this weekend and see a killer musician, acrobat, comedian, theater show etc. suggest they sign up to be part of Buskerfest Miami 2016 by filling out our simple app here: http://buskerfestmiami.com/performer-sign-up/

Till next time,

The Buskerfest Team
